ROLE OVERVIEW
The Fundraising Director is a senior role responsible for managing all aspects of an event and call time focused fundraising program. Working directly with the Campaign Manager, fundraising consultant, digital consultant, and candidate, you will build and execute an aggressive finance plan, run the events program, cultivate and steward donors, and manage the finance team. You are a detail-oriented operator who thrives on building systems while remaining equally comfortable with donors.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
High-Dollar Events Program
- Plan, coordinate, and manage all high-dollar fundraising events, from venue sourcing and host recruitment to logistics and day-of staffing
- Build and maintain a comprehensive fundraising event calendar aligned with the campaign schedule and call time program
- Staff the candidate at all finance events; prepare briefing materials and manage all follow-up
Donor Thank-Yous and Follow-Up
- Manage all donor thank-you communications and timely follow-up after calls, meetings, and events
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors, hosts, and bundlers throughout the cycle
- Draft personalized donor communications, including call scripts, thank-you notes, and donor updates
Donor Prospecting
Manage the full donor prospecting process: list-building, research, and outreach to new networksIdentify and cultivate new major donor prospects through targeted outreach and network mapping
Coordinate with national Democratic finance networks and bundlers
Team and Operations Management
Manage the Call Time Manager and fundraising interns
Oversee call time operations: build call sheets, manage briefings, track pledges and conversions, and ensure timely follow-up
Maintain accurate donor records and reporting in NGP/ActBlue; ensure FEC compliance with compliance vendors
Report weekly finance metrics to campaign leadership and fundraising consultant
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Minimum 2 cycles of campaign fundraising experience; prior Finance Director or Deputy Finance Director experience strongly preferred
Proficiency with ActBlue and NGP required
Strong donor relationship management skills and demonstrated experience managing high-dollar events
Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Availability for evenings and weekends for events and campaign activitiesMust live in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area
Preferred
Familiarity with the Bay Area and/or California major donor landscapeExperience managing finance staff and internsPrior experience on a competitive federal or statewide race
LOGISTICS
Reports to: Campaign Manager
Salary: $6,500 - $7,500 per month, commensurate with experience
Start Date: Flexible
Term: Full-time through the June 2026 primary, with opportunity to continue through November 2026 when campaign advances
Location: San Francisco Bay Area; in-person required with some travel within the district and California
Hours: Full-time; evening and weekend availability required

ROLE OVERVIEW
We're seeking an experienced Videographer & Editor to support our social media program. This persion is responsible for capturing, editing, color-grading, and finishing high-quality short-form video content designed specifically for social platforms.
This position reports directly to the Social Media Manager and works closely with the digital team to execute a fast-paced, message-driven content strategy across Instagram, X, TikTok, Facebook, and other digital channels. The ideal candidate is deeply fluent in social-first video production, understands the rhythms of political content, and can deliver polished work under tight turnaround times.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Video Production & Capture
Film high-quality video content in a variety of real-world environments, including:
- On-the-street interviews
- Events, rallies, and community appearances
- Sit-down and walk-and-talk videos
- Quick-turn reactive or news-driven moments
Operate professional or prosumer camera equipment with strong technical control over:
- Exposure and lighting in uncontrolled environments
- Framing and composition optimized for vertical and square formats
- Stabilization and handheld shooting for social platforms
Capture clean, usable audio in challenging settings using lavs, on-camera mics, and/or portable audio setups.
Be available for in-person filming at campaign events during both daytime and evening hours, with the ability to adjust weekly schedules based on campaign needs and event timing.
Equipment Requirements
Ideally have access to and regularly work with their own professional or prosumer video equipment, including:
- Camera body capable of high-quality video capture suitable for social media
- Lenses appropriate for both on-the-go and sit-down filming
- Audio equipment (lavaliers, on-camera microphones, or equivalent)
- Basic lighting kit for controlled or semi-controlled environments
Ideally have access to their own editing workstation and software, including professional editing, color grading, and audio tools.
Candidate is responsible for maintaining their equipment in good working order.
Candidate must carry their own equipment insurance and be responsible for the care, transport, and security of their gear.
Editing, Color & Sound
Edit short-form social video content end-to-end, including:
- Assembly, pacing, and storytelling optimized for attention and retention
- Clean, modern cuts aligned with platform norms
- On-screen text, captions, and graphic elements as needed
- Perform color correction and color grading to ensure visual consistency across content and platforms.
Execute sound design and audio cleanup, including:
- Dialogue cleanup and levelingAmbient sound managementMusic selection and mixing when appropriate
- Ensure all videos meet platform-specific specs and best practices for Instagram Reels, TikTok, X, and other channels.
- Social-First Strategy & Collaboration
- Edit with a deep understanding of social media performance, including hooks, pacing, and visual storytelling.
Collaborate closely with the Social Media Manager on:
- Content planning and executionIterations based on performance and feedback
- Rapid turnaround requests when news breaks or moments arise
- Take direction clearly and efficiently, while also offering creative input and technical recommendations when appropriate.
Workflow & Organization
- Manage footage, project files, and exports in an organized and reliable manner.
- Meet tight deadlines consistently in a fast-moving campaign environment.
- Maintain a high standard of professionalism, discretion, and reliability.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional experience in videography and editing for social media (political or advocacy experience strongly preferred).
- Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., CapCut, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
- Experience using a DSLR
- Demonstrated expertise in: Color correction and grading
- Audio cleanup and sound designShort-form, social-optimized editing
- Strong understanding of platform-specific video formats, trends, and performance considerations.
- Ability to work independently while taking clear direction from the Social Media Manager.
- Based in or able to regularly work in San Francisco, with availability for in-person filming.
COMPENSATION
Hourly rate: $35-50 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Approximately 20 - 40 hours per week.
