The Board of Supervisors is an elected body of 11 elected members, each representing a district in San Francisco. The Board introduces and passes legislation (ordinances and resolutions), holds information public hearings on matters important to the people of San Francisco, and responds to constituent needs. The Boards meetings - both the meetings of the full Board and of each committee - are open to public testimony, with a public comment session held after every agenda item, as well as during a general public comment session. Public comment is often limited to 2 minutes per speaker.
